Bellange Kabuki Brush Set - Review

By 9:30 AM

A week or two ago, I purchased this Bellange Kabuki makeup brush set from Amazon. It's got 10 brushes in it (five large and five smaller brushes) and the brushes come individually wrapped inside a purple zip-bag.

I was happy to see that the brushes came in a zip bag that was actually pretty. It's not anything spectacular, but considering that I don't really have a bag I carry makeup brushes in, I'll definitely keep using it.

The brushes themselves are gorgeous - they've got sleek black and gold handles, and the synthetic (animal friendly!) brushes are nice and soft.

(I'm going to go through each individual brush and share my thoughts & how I used it!)

Precision Contouring Brush

I actually didn't use this brush for contouring (as I felt it was a little too small for my taste, but I'll probably give that a try at some point!), but instead used it for applying eyeshadow over my lids. It was great for this and applied the shadow evenly and well-pigmented enough!

Precision Primer & Shadow Brush

I used this brush for applying an all-over shade across my lids & to my brow bones, and I loved it. I think it's perfect for applying eyeshadows all over the lids! I haven't tried it with primer, but I likely will.

Precision Concealer Brush

I actually used this brush for blending my eyeshadow and it was perfect. The brush is just fluffy enough so that it distributes the color, but stiff enough so that it doesn't go all over the place.

Mini Perfect Precision Brush

This brush is for brightening up the undereye area, but I used it for concealing spots on my face. I thought it was pretty good for that, although I wasn't able to get a great amount of coverage with this brush. In the future, I'd probably use this one in particular for highlighting my brow bones instead.

Perfection Contouring Brush

I used this brush to apply my crease color on my eyes and it surprised me - it worked really well! Usually I prefer a smaller brush to apply a crease color, but this was just right. It blended well and felt smooth across my lids. Obviously, you can also use this for contouring - I'd use this for contouring my nose and smaller areas on my face.

Beautiful Blush & Bronzer Brush

I used this brush for my blush and was pretty pleased with it! It distributed the color evenly and felt nice on my face. It might be just a tad stiffer than the brush blushes I prefer, but barely!

Magic Mineral Blending Brush

I wasn't terribly pleased with this brush. I used it to blend out my bronzer (the stripey-ness that the bronzer brush caused) and not only did it fail to blend it as easily as I liked, but it ended up removing a lot of the concealer and powder I had applied underneath it, which resulted in a spotty appearance of my skin. I would rather use this brush to apply a foundation rather than to blend products.

Fierce Foundation & Powder Brush

I used this brush to apply my loose powder, and I was sorely disappointed. While I'm sure this brush would be good for applying foundation, it's not great with powder. It's much too stiff for my taste. Using this brush ended up removing some of my concealer work that I had done to my face, which I wasn't happy about.

Perfect Precision

I believe this one is for brightening up the undereye area, but with the pointed tip I decided to try it for contouring my cheekbones. I wasn't very pleased with the results, as it made my bronzer rather stripey and it was difficult to blend it out. I'd used this brush for highlighting in the future.

Flawless Foundation Brush

I L.O.V.E. this brush for applying foundation! I used it with my Revlon Colorstay foundation and it applied so perfectly. I was able to blend it all out nicely while achieving a pretty flawless finish. This is my favorite brush of the set for sure.

I think this brush set is pretty good, and if you're in the market for new brushes but don't want to break the bank, these are a great option for you.

These brushes don't shed, they're good quality, and at $15 per set, you can't beat it. I'll definitely keep using most of these brushes in my arsenal of products.
